Today our adventure with the girls ended… but the second leg of our motorcycle adventure began.

We really had an amazing time in the Three Rivers area. The Sequoia’s were incredible, food was great and our VRBO was legit. We had a separate game room with billiards, shuffle board, fuse ball, ping pong and darts. We spent a bunch of time out there when we were at the house. Really miss hanging out more, but, with the girls being adults, time is hard to come by. I will say the bonus is they are both with great guys, so it’s not all bad.

Getting going today was a challenge. We were prepared but I didn’t realize how long we were taking in the mornings to get loaded up, and we made the kids leave the house a bit late. Additionally, we left our national park pass in their car so we had to stop to grab it from them. Good thing we did too.

When we researched our route, we had considered Yosemite, but during peak periods they have a reservation system to get in and getting one was a challenge. To account for that I had routed us around the park, but the GPS had other ideas. I didn’t know but coming into the park on 140 (amazing ride by the way), you’re on the highway for several miles before reaching the entrance and the only thing to do is to travel back 40-50 miles if they turn you away. There are no other roads in the area to get you out. Fortunately we explained what happened and they let us through and man am I happy they did. Yosemite is amazing, the riding, the scenery and the crazy rock formations are incredible. We saw some mountain lakes as well and they are so blue.

So, today I felt lucky in so many ways. We spent some quality time as a family, then Joy and I saw another incredible part of America!
