So Joy and I arrived at the vacation house for the family trip portion of the vacation. After we unloaded the bike, settled into the house and took a few minutes to breathe, I remembered to check the odometer. We have officially ridden 1,866 miles! Guess what, I was ready to roll the next day. I’m ate up, but there is something about traveling this way. The planning, strategic packing, focusing on weather conditions and being so connected to everything around you really feeds who I am. Even when things are hot and frustrating there is some vein of fun for me.

I am enjoying the family part of the trip. The six of us seeing the Sequoia’s together for the first time is really something special. To stand next to a tree that is older than most history’s, that has lived through so many seasons really puts into perspective how short of a life we live. We should really take chances and try to live our dreams, not just dream them. Two more days of fun, food and laughter.

Then, back on the road. I think Joy has even settled into a groove with it. Can’t wait to get rolling, excited to see what the road brings.
