As we left Idyllwild and made our way to Big Bear Lake after calling an audible, we stopped on Indian point scenic outlook. While looking out we saw a city and a lake in the distance. Charlie had to look it up on the map and turns out it was Hemet, CA a place I know pretty well.

Back when I was 7 years old I spent every summer with my mom and my step dad in Hemet. I find it very cool that this place made such an impression on me that I still remember so much. For me it’s a big deal to remember, because I can’t remember what I did yesterday most of the time.
It turns out my stepdad, who passed away when I was young, cousin owns the property. So we went and visited my old house it was great I got to share it with Charlie.

After the visit we made our way to Big Bear Lake which is another place I frequented as a kid. We always camped in an old conversion van. We definitely didn’t camp this time we are too old but we did stay in an old cabin that didn’t have AC. Apparently that was written in small letters that we missed.

I was so overheated and just taking it all in that I only got pictures of food HA!
