Yesterday was a really great day I believe when we finished our ride and made it to our destination I said, “This was way better scenery than yesterday.” I meant it too. New Mexico really lives up to their nickname of land of enchantment. To their crazy architecture (earthship biotecture- some of the coolest most unique homes I’ve ever seen), to their mountains of all different terrain to the VAST valleys. It was all just breathtaking.

However most of all yesterday I was enchanted with FOOD! I’m pretty sure we both by the end of the day didn’t fall asleep because of exhausting it was food coma. We had breakfast at Old Tymers Cafe not even knowing it is a biker brunch place. It started our whole food day off with a BANG!

I also have to share this gas station that had the best wall art I’ve seen.

After not getting beer here we did get so hot on the road we needed to make a pitstop at Dandy’s for ice cream, pistachio for me and cookies and cream for Charlie. Ice cream before dinner is the best thing about being an adult.

We made it to our Airbnb in Albuquerque which was an airstream trailer with some other guests. We made it just in time as a flash flood storm hit and almost kept us from dinner.

So with the impending doom of being swept away in the flood we decided to walk .5mile to a Mexican restaurant El Pinto. To our surprise this was unlike any Mexican restaurant. There was a fortress built around it and when I tell you it fits 1200 people I mean it! The food was by far the best we’ve had so far.

It’s truly breathtaking in there definitely try it if you find your self in northern Albuquerque.

Yesterday again was full of core memories and firsts for this rookie and I’m so glad I said yes!
