I’m a bit late with Day two’s post. Joy and I arrived at the Airbnb yesterday right at check in, and we were a bit warm. We cranked the air in the camper and I proceeded to pass out. Sometimes you just need a nap as my friend Kesh would say.
We rolled out pretty early because there was rain predicted on our route. We rode the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway and it did not disappoint. Joy recommended we ride for a bit before grabbing breakfast so we ended up eating at Old Tymer’s Cafe in Red River, NM and it was great. Turns out it owned by a fan of motorcycles and there was Sturgis signage all over the walls. The breakfast burrito smothered Christmas style hit just right.
We also broke out the Insta 360 for the first time and took some really cool video. Its image stabilization is perfect and being able to change the perspective of the videos is fun. Here is a snip of the first video we took with just the front facing camera.

The coin ride photo needed to be taken at Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Angel Fire, NM. It was a humbling place to visit and makes me appreciate a trip like this even more. We’ll have to go back to visit someday as they were still adding to the memorial. After spending some time there, the clouds were building around us so we set our sites on Albuquerque and made great time and missing all the weather in the mountains.
Now, back to my nap. It was actually a blessing in disguise as I woke up to this.

If I had not fallen asleep, we would have likely been out exploring and been stuck. Now the kicker was…. We didn’t have dinner, so get soaked or have a piece of jerky. Oftentimes, audibles work out for Joy and I on trips, but I’ll let her tell that side of the story.
