As I am watching Good Morning America with my cup of coffee they just had to mention the West Coast record heat. Being from the Midwest we know about heat and when it’s hot here it’s humid too. The downside to being from the Midwest and traveling to elevation, and to a dry heat is you have a hard time telling your body is overheated.

Well how about we jump in a motorcycle and try our luck. No in all seriousness the heat is nothing to joke around about and we are starting our hydration routine to ensure we set ourselves up for success.

Anyone who knows me, knows that is a funny idea, “Joy hydrating?!” I am one of those who can eat a whole meal without touching a drink.

However, I am giving it a try so we have stocked up on Liquid IV and I’m trying to drink the necessary daily intake of water. *Too many visits to the ladies room better get that all out of my system before we are riding 300 miles a day and trying to beat the afternoon heat.

We will be bringing the Liquid IV packets with us and like Charlie had mentioned in his packing blog we have a cooler saddle bag for drinks. Less stops in the dry desert West Coast heat is a great thing.

I can’t believe we are so close to this amazing life changing journey to begin and we are so thrilled to take you along.

Also one of my best friends turned 40 today the first of my girlfriend group to do so. Happy Birthday Haley! Love ya and so glad it’s always you first.
